NRI Quota in Tamil Nadu Medical Colleges

Tamil Nadu is a top choice for NRIs seeking MBBS admissions, offering 952 seats under the NRI quota in its medical colleges. Both NRIs and children of NRIs, whether residing in Tamil Nadu or other Indian states, are eligible for these admissions. NRI-sponsored students are also eligible but given second priority. The allocation of these seats is managed through Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling.
There are several advantages to pursuing an MBBS under the NRI quota in Tamil Nadu’s medical colleges:
  • The cost of medical education is significantly lower than in many other countries.
  • The quality of medical education is exceptionally high.
  • The Indian medical education system is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • Graduates from these medical colleges are eligible to practice medicine in India and many other countries worldwide.

Eligibility Criteria for NRI Quota MBBS Admission
